ALGIERS – Monday, 20 March 2023 (APS) – The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, has received a phone call from his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk, who congratulated him on his appointment as head of Algerian diplomacy, the ministry said Monday in a statement.
“The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf has received a phone call from his brother Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk, the minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, who congratulated him for his appointment as head of the Algerian diplomacy,” the statement said.
The two ministers discussed “the brotherly and cooperation relations between Algeria and Mauritania, welcoming the efforts made for the building of a strong and mutually beneficial partnership for the two sister countries and brother peoples.”
They also discussed “the strengthening of political coordination on regional and international issues of common interest, in line with the guidelines of the leaders of the two countries,” the statement concluded.
