ABIDJAN – Thursday, 13 July 2023 (APS) – Algeria will play in Group G of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, according to the draw made on Thursday in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on the sidelines of the 45th Ordinary General Assembly (OGA) of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

In addition to Algeria, Group B includes Guinea, Uganda, Mozambique, Botswana and Somalia.

The first two rounds of qualifiers will be played between November 13 and 21.

The winners of each of the 9 groups qualify for the 2026 World Cup. The four best runners-up in each group will play in a CAF playoff tournament. The winner of the CAF play-off tournament will take part in the FIFA play-off tournament scheduled for March 2026.

This single phase of the African qualifiers will last 23 months.
