ALGIERS – Thursday, 21 September 2023 (APS) – Minister of State for Women’s Affairs at Libya’s Government of National Unity Houria Termal welcomed Wednesday Algeria’s “honorable position” towards Libya, following the last floods that caused huge human and material losses, expressing her willingness to benefit from the Algerian experience.

In a statement to the press at the end of her meeting with Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs Kaouter Krikou, Houria Termal, on a working visit to Algeria, expressed her gratitude and deep esteem to Algeria, President, people and Government for “their honorable positions,” their solidarity and support to Libya in “these difficult circumstances following the floods which hit the country’s east, causing several victims.”

This visit, she added, aims to exchange the experiences and knowledge, especially as Algeria experienced in the past many difficulties, which enabled it to acquire a large experience in disaster management and psychological support of victims. It will also an opportunity to strengthen the partnership in this field through “a cooperation mechanism between the two ministries.”

The visit will enable to benefit from the Algerian experience in terms of women’s emancipation and empowerment, he affirmed, underlining the convergence of views, given the socio-cultural proximity between the two countries.
