ORAN – Wednesday, 09 March 2022 (APS) -The first edition of the African Business Fair opened Wednesday at Mohamed Benahmed Convention Center in Oran with the participation of 16 African countries in addition to Algeria.

This business event is an opportunity to publicize domestic products, search for ways to cooperate and encourage investment with African partners, said Saida Neghza, Chairperson of the General Confederation of Algerian Companies, organizer of the event in collaboration with “Yacine production” advertising agency and under the patronage of the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion.

The fair “is consistent with the policy adopted by the Government under the guidelines of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune to encourage investment and cooperation with African partners.”

Affirming that Algeria is working to boost trade with African countries, Neghza said that “the opening of a shipping line with Mauritania, airlines with African countries and the acceleration of the pace of the African Unity road works, as well as other projects, is the best evidence.”

The participants will showcase their products in the fields of healthcare, pharmaceuticals, transport, logistics, environment, renewable energy, startups, agriculture, food industry, building and public works, hydraulics, equipment, leather industry, textile, and others.

The agenda of the fair includes a business forum and representatives of institutions of participating countries to exchange views and proposals on the development of the African continent, said the organizers.

The 1st African Business Fair is held in “geostrategic conditions decisive for the future of the African continent to which aspire the African peoples and governments.”

In addition to Algeria, the participating countries include Libya, Mauritania, Egypt, Niger, Mali, Senegal, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Angola, Guinea, Tanzania and Cameroon.
