ALGIERS – Saturday, 10 June 2023 (APS) – Algeria, through its achievements in the fight against child labour and the protection of children’s rights, is a “model to follow,” the minister of Labour, employment and Social Security, Fayçal Bentaleb, said Saturday.
Chairing a meeting marking the World Day against Child Labour (June 12th), the minister said the steps accomplished in the implementation of the recommendations and the international standards in the fight against child labour and the protection of children’s rights makes of “Algeria a model to follow.”
Bentaleb called for “more efforts to preserve these achievements according to an inclusive approach based on the combination of efforts of the various sectors.”
The minister stressed State’s efforts in the fight against child labour and for the protection of the rights of children and their physical and psychological integrity, through the elimination of all kinds of violence and exploitation.
He also mentioned the international agreements signed by Algeria and the relevant national laws in force.
