ALGIERS – Tuesday, 11 July 2023 (APS) – On Tuesday in Algiers, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune honored thirteen (13) exporters, including “Saterex-IRIS Company”, which was awarded the “Medal of Honor of Exports”, in addition to a subsidiary of the Algerian Company of Fairs and Exports (SAFEX), as the best support body for exporters.

 

The winning company received the award at the 1st edition of “The Medal of Honor of Exports” held at the International Conference Center (CIC) Abdelatif-Rahal in Algiers, and opened by President Tebboune.

Themed “Commitment, Achievements and Prospects”, this year’s event aims to reward the best exporters of the last three years (2020-2022) and to publicize Algeria’s new policy to encourage non-hydrocarbon exports.

The “IRIS” Company, which specialized in the production of electronic products, household appliances and tires, exported US$45 million to 28 countries during the reference period.

The company, which employs 3455 workers, aims to achieve export worth US$146 million by 2029.

Eleven (11) medals of Honor were awarded to thirteen (13) exporters in eleven (11) categories.

Another medal was awarded to “Tasdir”, a subsidiary of SAFEX, for the best institution supporting exporters during the reference period.

In addition to the “Medal of Honor of Export , three companies, namely Mediterranean Float Glassmfg, Faderco (Warak subsidiary) and Somiphos, were awarded the prize for “Best Exporter of Industrial Products.”

The prize for “Best Exporter of Pharmaceutical Products” went to IMC, while Boubelenza Agroalimentaire Company received the prize for “Best Exporter of Agricultural Products.”

The “Biodattes Algérie” Company won the prize for “Best Exporter of Dates”, Kiared Company for “Best Olive Oil Exporter” and “Yassir Start-up” for “Best Exporter of Services”.

The prize for the “Best Exporter to Africa” category went to “Sodismac”, a building materials distribution company belonging to GICA Group.

Amir Benhamadi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Condor Electronics, won the prize for “Best Young Exporter”, while the manager of Expo Cuir was awarded the prize for “Best Female Exporter.” 

The prize for “Best Foreign or Mixed Exporting Company Operating in Algeria” went to “Elsewedy Cables Algeria.”
