ALGIERS – Friday, 21 April 2023 (APS) – President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune offered on Thursday evening his wishes to the Algerian people on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, hailing the gestures of solidarity and charity works carried out nationwide and among the national community abroad during the holy month of Ramadan.

“In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Beneficent, prayers and peace be upon His prophet, my fellow citizens, I am pleased to offer my best wishes to all of you, inside and outside the country, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. Praise be to Allah for allowing us to fast and pray during Ramadan.  May God Almighty accept our fasting, our good deeds and our prayers,” said President Tebboune in his message to the Algerian people on the eve of Eid al-Fitr.

“My brothers and sisters, it behoves us to welcome the solidarity gestures and charity works that we witnessed throughout the national territory and among the national community abroad during this holy month. These works constitute a support to the State at the service of the citizens and the handling of their concerns,” added the President of the Republic.

“I hope that the facilitations of movement decided by the State for our community abroad have contributed to the gathering of the Algerian family,” he added.

“The celebration of Eid al-Fitr shouldn’t make us forget the sufferings of our brothers in occupied Palestine and the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first qibla and third holiest place in Islam, in broad daylight, and the division among our brothers in Sudan, to whom we reiterate our call to the necessity of privileging the path of reason and the best interest of the country in order to preserve our Arab-Muslim nation,” he added.
