ALGIERS – Monday, 20 November 2023 (APS) – Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui reiterated Monday the call made by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to all freedom-loving peoples, people of conscience worldwide, jurists and human rights organizations to take legal action before the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the international human rights organizations against the Zionist entity for its crimes committed against the Palestinian people, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
Chairing the opening session of the African Judicial Dialogue, organized by the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (CAFDHP), at the Abdelatif-Rahal International Conference Center, in Algiers, the Prime Minister reiterated the call “to the international community to assume its responsibilities, ensure international protection for the brotherly Palestinian people and halt decades of impunity for crimes committed against the Palestinians.”
“The international community is powerless to impose respect for human rights, flouted in the annihilation war” carried out by the Zionist occupier against the brotherly Palestinian people, he stressed, noting that “the values of international humanitarian law” are violated whenever the Zionist occupation army shells Gaza.
Larbaoui further highlighted “the suffering of the Sahrawi people who, for half a century, have been stripped of their legitimate right to self-determination, though this right is inalienable and unanimously recognized by the international community through the United Nations resolutions. This right has historically been a just and historical settlement for several African countries that recovered their independence and freedom.”
The Prime Minister added that this situation “requires ongoing action and intensified efforts to mobilize international solidarity, so as to activate all mechanisms to guarantee respect and implementation of the relevant decisions of the international law, in addition to the rules of international law on human rights and international humanitarian law.”
