ALGIERS – Wednesday, 23 March 2022 (APS) – Algeria has proposed Wednesday in Cairo the creation of an Arab health organization, a proposal that has been included in the agenda of the 56th ordinary session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers scheduled for Thursday.

Representing Algeria at the meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health, the Minister of Health, Abderrahmane Benbouzid proposed the creation of an Arab health organization, said the ministry in a communiqué.

This initiative was “welcomed” by the Executive Board of the Council because it should establish “a consensual and participatory working method and encourage the exchange of expertise between Arab countries”, especially since it will be “an appropriate platform for the launch of a collective Arab action in the field of policy coordination and performance improvement in the fields of healthcare,” said the source.
