ALGIERS – Wednesday, 06 September 2023 (APS) – Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), received a telephone call on Wednesday from the Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Joseph Burns, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN).
“Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, received a telephone call from the Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Joseph Burns, on Wednesday, September 06, 2023, during which issues of common interest were discussed,” the statement said.
During the telephone call, the two parties “expressed their shared desire to boost cooperation and coordination between the two countries in the field of security.”
“The talks were also an opportunity for both parties to express their satisfaction with the level of security coordination achieved, particularly in the field of counter-terrorism,” said the same source.
