ALGIERS – Sunday, 20 February 2022 (APS) – Speaker of the People’s National Assembly Brahim Ghali stressed, in Cairo, on the necessity of intensifying cooperation and updating the strategies related to the fight against terrorism, the Parliament’s Lower House said Saturday in a statement.

In an address made on the occasion of the 4th Conference of Arab Parliament, Boughali called to “intensify cooperation and update the strategies related to the fight against terrorism,” warning against this scourge which, he added, “ has been able to adapt to the measures taken to thwart it and to dry up its financing sources.”

Emphasizing “the importance of ensuring peace and security in the countries of the region,” Boughali said it is “necessary to make the Arab world’s voice heard, amidst frantic race of events at the international level and the countries’ relentless struggle for hegemony.”

Concerning the economic cooperation, Boughali called to “get collectively ready for a post-Covid period to boost the socio-economic development,” according to the source.

While broaching the Palestinian issue, he reiterated “Algeria’s solidarity with the Palestinian people who are still suffering from the repression of the Zionist occupation, in full view of the international community.”

“Algeria reiterates its full support to the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights and build their independent State with al-Quds as capital,” he underlined.

At the end of his address, Boughali affirmed “the commitment of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune to making the next Arab summit succeed. A unifying summit that aims to establish the Arab solidarity, continue the reform of the Arab League likely to give further credibility to the joint Arab action.”
