ALGIERS – Thursday, 31 August 2023 (APS) – The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent Thursday a message of condolence to South-African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, following a blaze resulting in many casualties in Johannesburg.
“It was with great sadness that we learned of the tragedy that has shaken Johannesburg, following the devastating fire which led to many casualties,” the condolence message said.
“In the face of the painful tragedy hitting our friendly people of South Africa, I offer, on behalf of the Algerian people and government, and in my own name, my sincere condolences, and expressed my sympathy to your Excellency and to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, and reiterating our sincere solidarity in these painful circumstances,” President Tebboune said.
“Reiterating our sincere condolences, your Excellency Mr. President and dear friend, please accept my most distinguished greetings,” the head of State concluded.
