ALGIERS – Monday, 19 December 2022 (APS) – The secretary general of the ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Amar Belani, on Sunday held discussions with Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kenji Yamada, who is on a working visit to Algeria, the ministry said Monday in a statement.
“During the meeting, the two sides praised the quality of historical relations of solidarity and friendship between the two countries, expressing their common desire to further strengthen political dialogue and cooperation in all sectors,” the statement said.
They “agreed to consolidate the legal framework governing relations between the two countries, mainly through the completion of pending draft agreements and the increase of high-level visits.”
They also expressed their common desire to extend their fruitful cooperation and exchanges of expertise and knowledge to other fields, especially in solar energy, earthquake engineering, maritime transport and the mechanical industry.
In addition, the Japanese official commended Algeria’s efforts “to improve its attractiveness of foreign direct investments (FDI), through the promulgation of the new Law on Investment, which was favourably received by Japanese operators and economic circles.”
