ALGIERS – Thursday, 07 December 2023 (APS) – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Kamel Baddari visited Thursday the Research Center in Semiconductor Technology for the Energetic (CRTSE), in El Harrach (Algiers), where he underscored the need to adapt scientific research to the economic development challenges as well as the Algerian society’s needs.
In this regard, Beddari affirmed that 2024 must be the year of “scientific excellence, industrial priority and addressing the challenges of the Algerian society,” stressing that in order to implement this strategy, “it has been agreed with the researches to set up economic enterprises within the Center, which will be tasked with transforming research projects and prototypes into industrial products, particularly those directly meeting the needs of the Algerian citizens.”
“The funding from which the center is to benefit will make it “added value,” enabling the creation of economic enterprises that bring about jobs and contribute to the economic recovery through the manufacturing and marketing of the product,” the minister said.
In his visit, several presentations were given on the different research projects, supervised by the researchers of the Center. This included products as research prototypes in energy, sustainable development, and water security.
