ALGIERS – Saturday, 16 September 2023 (APS) – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Kamel Baddari and Minister of the Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid participated as representatives of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the G77+China Summit which kicked off Friday in Havana, said a joint communiqué of the two ministries.
The works of this two-day summit, placed under the theme “Current development challenges: Role of science, technology and innovation,” are held in the presence of the heads of the State and Government of the G77+China and with the participation of the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, said the source.
The participants in this meeting will discuss several themes and issues related to the development such as “the role of sciences, technology and innovation” and “the challenges facing developing countries to achieve the scientific and technological progress.”
The “impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the rise in the food and energy prices, the market disruption, the inflation, debts, climate change, geopolitical tensions and conflicts in several regions of the world will also be discussed,” added the source.
