ALGIERS – Tuesday, 06 June 2023 (APS) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, held telephone talks with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation and partnership relations between Algeria and Turkey, said the ministry in a statement.

On this occasion, Attaf congratulated Fidan on his appointment as head of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wishing him success in carrying out his duties, the press release added.

He also expressed “his satisfaction with the level of Algerian-Turkish relations, under the enlightened leadership and direct monitoring of the two presidents, Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In this regard, Attaf expressed his wish to continue working with his Turkish counterpart with a view to achieving new goals “that would contribute to strengthening the exceptional bilateral relations between the two countries.”

For his part, the Turkish minister thanked his Algerian counterpart for his congratulations, saying that he “shares with him the same positive assessment of the remarkable development of cooperation and partnership relations between the two countries.”
