ALGIERS – Tuesday, 17 October 2023 (APS) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf received Tuesday his Swedish counterpart, Tobias Billstrom, before the African-Nordic Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, held in Algeria, the Ministry said in a statement.
The discussions focused on “the bilateral and multilateral cooperation ties between the two countries, as partners committed to the values and principles enshrined in the United Nations (UN) Charter,” the statement said.
In this regard, the two sides stressed “the need to comply with international law on regional and international crises, particularly the Palestinian cause, the Ukrainian crisis, the Western Sahara issue, and other crises and tensions threatening peace and security, and hindering economic developments efforts,” the statement said.
Bilaterally, the two Ministers examined “several economic issues, in addition to ways to bolster political consultation ties and intensify high-level visit exchanges,” the statement wrapped up.
