ALGIERS – Tuesday, 24 October 2023 (APS) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf arrived Tuesday in New York to attend a high-level meeting of the United Nations (UN) Security Council on the serious developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip, where the barbaric Zionist aggression has continued since October 7, said the Ministry in a communiqué.
Attaf was invited to take part in this meeting by his Brazilian counterpart, Mauro Vieira, whose country holds the periodic presidency of the Security Council for the month of October, said the source.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad will also attend the emergency special session of the United Nations General Assembly, scheduled for Thursday, “in the face of the Security Council’s inability to act to stop the Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip and to rescue and provide international protection for the Palestinians.”
