ALGIERS – Tuesday, 29 August (APS) – The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, said Tuesday that Algeria, which is defending the principle of multipolarity international relations and the reestablishment of multilateral cooperation, will continue to defend its choices with its BRICS allies within other frameworks.

The Foreign minister made the statement while answering a question about Algeria’s reaction to the outcome of the last BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Attaf was speaking at a press conference held at the Abdelatif-Rahal international conference centre, about the ongoing developments in the Sahel region, in general, and the Republic of Niger, in particular.

“The member countries of the BRICS are friendly states and longstanding allies with whom we have, even before the creation of the BRICS, been coordinating on foreign policy issues.”
