ALGIERS – Monday, 15 May 2023 (APS) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf arrived Monday afternoon in Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for an official visit as part of the strengthening of fraternal and cooperative relations between the two brotherly countries and participation in the ministerial preparatory meetings of the Arab Summit scheduled to take place on May 19, said the ministry in a statement.
Attaf will chair on Tuesday with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, the 4th session of the Algerian-Saudi political consultation committee “which is a mechanism aimed at strengthening the pace of consultation and coordination between the two brotherly countries on issues of common interest,” the same source said.
A bilateral agreement on the creation of the High Council of Algerian-Saudi Coordination is to be signed on this occasion, the source said.
In addition, and as part of preparations for the Arab event scheduled in Jeddah, Attaf will take part in the ministerial meetings of the Council of the League of Arab States and the various sub-committees whose work will focus on the follow-up of the implementation of decisions adopted by Arab leaders at the Algiers summit and the preparation of the various topics on the agenda of the 32nd session of the Arab summit.
