BLIDA – Monday, 29 August 2022 (APS) – General Said Chanegriha, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army chaired, on Saturday evening, at the Regional Military Sports Complex in the 1st Military Region, the closing ceremony of the International Military Games “Airborne Section-2022” which took place from August 15 to 27, 2022 in Algeria, within the framework of the International Military Games organized each year in the Russian Federation, said the Department of National Defence in a statement.

This ceremony was marked by the presence of members of the government, representatives of the military sports delegations of the participating countries, the ambassadors of these countries, as well as the Commander of the Land Forces, the Commander of the 1st Military Region, and General Officers of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff of the People’s National Army.

In a speech delivered on this occasion, Army General Chanegriha underlined that “the organization of the International Military Games “Airborne Section 2022,” by Algeria, is concrete proof of its unchanging commitment and its firm determination to support any action that aims to promote military sports, and that the sharing of experiences through exchanges between the armies is one of the factors for the cooperation’s success,” said the source.

“The organization of the International Military Games “Airborne Section-2022,” by Algeria, under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Supreme Head of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, is concrete proof of its unchanging commitment and its firm determination to support any action that aims to promote military sports at the international level, and reflects the conviction of the People’s National Army in the need to encourage communication and solidarity between the armies in the service of development and peace in the world,” added General Chanegriha.

“We are convinced, within the People’s National Army, that physical training, in addition to being one of the necessities of physical activity, healthy mind and mental balance of military staff, is one of the bases of the good preparation for the military combat and the value of their operational availability. It also reflects the Popular National Army in the field of sports Games in the different disciplines, at the continental and international levels,” added.

General Chanegriha also stressed that “there is no doubt that the sharing of experiences through exchanges between armies, particularly in the field of military sports, is one of the factors of successful cooperation and fruitful and constructive communication.”

The Army General expressed the wish to “see this international military sports Games open up promising horizons capable of strengthening our military relations, and to see in military sports a new source, which provides cooperation between friendly armies, and all the motivating factors of success.”
