ALGIERS – Monday, 19 June 2023 (APS) – The minister of Energy and Mine, Mohamed Arkab, received Monday the deputy director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), head of the department of technical cooperation, Hua Liu, the ministry said in a statement.
During the meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters of the ministry in the presence of the Atomic Energy commissioner and the ministry’s executives, the two sides tackled the 34th meeting of the technical working group of the African Regional Cooperative Agreement for Research, Development and Training related to Nuclear Science and Technology (AFRA), the statement said.
It added that the International Agency of Atomic Energy (IAEA) is a depository of the AFRA agreement.
Liu expressed his “full satisfaction with the progress of Algeria’s meeting and the good cooperation that allowed the members of the AFRA to discuss the implementation of AFRA’s activities underway, consider the proposals for new projects and make recommendations on the subject for their inclusion in the next programme of AFRA.”
