ALGIERS – Tuesday, 07 November 2023 (APS) – The minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, received Tuesday a delegation of the ministry of Hydrocarbons of the Republic of Congo, who is on a working visit to Algeria, the ministry said in a statement.

The Congolese delegation’s visit “gives a concrete expression to the results of the visit the Congolese minister of Hydrocarbons paid to Algeria in May 2022, meant for the development and consolidation of cooperation between Algeria and Congo in the hydrocarbon field,” the statement said.

Discussions between the two sides were an opportunity to “review the state of bilateral cooperation since the signing of the minutes of the meeting between the two countries, through the minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, and his Congolese counterpart, Bruno Jean-Richard Itoua, on 24 May 2022 in Algiers.”

The minutes cover “many areas of cooperation between the two countries, including exchange of expertise in establishing legal and regulatory frameworks  in the hydrocarbon sector, the creation of regulatory bodies and the enhancement of hydrocarbon sector’s activities.

It also includes the exchange of experience in the development of the gas sector, especially the liquefied natural gas (LNG).
