ALGIERS – Monday, 10 October 2022 (APS) – In his capacity as Special Envoy of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of Tourism and Craft Industry, Yacine Hamadi was received Monday in Moroni by the President of the Federal Republic of Comoros, Azali Assoumani, to whom he handed over the letter of invitation sent to him by President Tebboune to take part in the Arab Summit scheduled for early November in Algiers, said the ministry in a statement.
“In his capacity as Special Envoy of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of Tourism and Craft Industry, Yacine Hamadi was received Monday in Moroni by the President of the Federal Republic of Comoros, Azali Assoumani, to whom he handed over the letter of invitation sent to him by President Tebboune to take part in the 31st Ordinary Session of the Arab Summit scheduled for 1-2 2 November in Algiers,” the statement said.
The minister conveyed to the Comorian president “the fraternal greetings of President of the Republic, and informed him of the various measures taken by Algeria to hold this summit in the best conditions and make it a decisive turning point in the joint Arab action.”
He also informed him of “the wish of the President of the Republic to see the Federal Republic of Comoros contribute actively to the work of the Arab Summit, to strengthen the values and spirit of Arab solidarity to advance the process of joint Arab action,” the same source said.
For his part, President Azali Assoumani confirmed “his participation in the Arab Summit,” saying that “the summit comes at the right time given the multidimensional international and regional challenges facing the Arab world.”
He reaffirmed “his determination to contribute alongside his brothers, President Tebboune and Arab leaders, to consolidate the Arab consensus and intensify efforts to promote joint Arab action to the height of the aspirations and ambitions of the Arab peoples.”
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in charge of the Diaspora and Francophonie, Dhoihir Dhoulkamal, the Diplomatic adviser to President Azali, Hamada Madi, and the Adviser in charge of the Arab world, Mohamed Hocine Jamal El-lil.”
It was an opportunity “to discuss the various aspects of bilateral relations and to discuss the prospects for their enhancement in various areas, in the best interests of both countries and to the height of the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples,” said the source.
