ALGIERS – Tuesday, 02 August 2022 (APS) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad announced Tuesday the start of the submission of requests for provisional accreditation for the foreign press which does not accompany official delegations and wishing to cover the Arab Summit of Algiers scheduled for next November, from August 1st to September 30th.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad informs the foreign press which does not accompany the official delegations and wishing to cover the 31st ordinary session of the Council of the Arab League at the level of the Summit scheduled for November 1 and 2, 2022 in Algiers, that the period for submitting requests for provisional accreditation is scheduled from August 1 to September 30, 2022.”

Accreditation application files are filed at Algeria’s diplomatic or consular centers with territorial jurisdiction, both in the country hosting the head office of the employing media and at the journalist’s place of residence if necessary.

The provisional accreditation application file contains the following documents:

-Application form for a “journalist visa” that can be issued or downloaded via the electronic sites of Algeria’s diplomatic or consular missions abroad.

-Application form for accreditation of the foreign press that does not accompany an official delegation. It can be issued or downloaded via the electronic sites of Algeria’s diplomatic or consular missions abroad or via the website dedicated to the Arab Summit (www. arabsummit2022.dz).

-A request issued by the media employing the journalist.

– One copy of the passport of the journalist of foreign nationality or a copy of the national identity document of the journalist of Algerian nationality.

– One copy of the journalist’s professional card.

– Two photos.

-A detailed list of technical equipment reserved for press activity.

“For more information on appointments and procedures for filing requests for provisional accreditation, the journalists concerned can consult the website dedicated to the Arab Summit (www.arabsummit2022.dz)”.

The ministry also says that “registration of the foreign press accompanying the official delegations will be done in parallel with the registration of the official delegations within a deadline that will be fixed later.”
