ALGIERS – Saturday, 02 April 2022 (APS) – The minister of Foreign Affairs and national Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, has taken part in a video-link coordination meeting of the Arab Contact Group, at the ministerial level, on the conflict in Ukraine, the ministry said Saturday in a statement.

The meeting was held ahead of the visit of Algerian, Jordanian, Sudanese, Iraqi and Egyptian foreign ministers to Moscow and Warsaw, to discuss with their Russian and Ukrainian counterparts, the statement said.

The Arab league council, met on 9 March 2022 in Cairo, had decided to set up an Arab contact group at the ministerial level, composed of Algeria, Sudan, Iraq, Egypt and the secretary general of the Arab League, to follow up the situation and “undertake the necessary consultations and contacts with the parties concerned, to contribute to finding a diplomatic solution” to the Ukraine crisis.
