TUNIS – Tuesday, 24 May 2022 (APS) – The Algerian athletes Wissal Harkas and Ismail Ben Hammouda snatched the gold medal in the long jump event and the bronze medal in the 10,000 meter walk event, respectively, as part of the Arab Junior Athletics Championships held from 23 to 27 May in Rades, in Tunis.
Harkas won the Arab title in the long jump event, with a jump of 5,77 meters, outclassing Moroccan Aya El Makawi (5,70 meters) and Egyptian Selma Abdelhamid Hamed (5,66 meters). The competition was marked by the participation of seven athletes.
For his part, Ismail Ben Hammouda won the bronze medal in the 10,000m walk event (43:36.15), behind Tunisian Oussama Farhat (43:00.32) who won the gold medal and Egyptian Ahmed Mohamed Hanafi (43:26.18), winner of the silver medal.
