SAINT-PETERSBURG (Russia) – Thursday, 27 July 2023 (APS) – The Algeria Press Service (APS) new agency signed a memorandum of understanding with the Russian news agency “Tass” in St. Petersburg on Thursday, covering the exchange of media content, experience and expertise.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by APS Director General Samir Gaïd and Tass  Director General Andrey Kondrashov on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa Summit and its Economic and Humanitarian Forum.

Speaking on the sidelines of the signing ceremony, the APS Director General said that the memorandum would “raise relations between the two agencies to a higher level, particularly in terms of exchanging content and expertise.”

Moreover, the agreement would also contribute to “boosting the exchange of information, media content and experience between the two agencies, in the midst of the media transformations underway around the world,” he continued.

The memorandum was signed on the sidelines of Gaid’s participation in a debate session organized as part of the Forum on “Transcending Stereotypes: The Role of the Media in Creating a Positive Image”, which was attended by heads of African and Russian news agencies.
