ALGIERS – Sunday, 10 September 2023 (APS) – The minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Laid Rebiga, said Sunday, in Algiers, that the festivities of the 60th anniversary of Algeria’s independence had achieved its “noble goals in terms of the preservation of national constants, national memory and the defence of national identity,” in line with the guidelines of the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Laid Rebiga, the guest of APS Forum held in the presence of the minister of Communication, Mohamed Laagab, heads of organizations, mujahideen (former freedom fighters) and children of martyrs, said the festivities of the 60th anniversary of the independence, with the participation of all sectors, had achieved its “noble goals in terms of the preservation of national constants, national memory and the defence of national identity.”

The minister stressed that the Algerian State had attached a paramount importance to this historical event, “in line with the guidelines of the president of the Republic, who gives a special interest to the national memory issue.”

The programme of the festivities marking the 60th anniversary of Algeria’s independence was based on “methodology and the diversification of the transmission channels for national memory.”

He cited in this regard the military parade held on 5 July 2022 by the ministry of National Defence, and which sent “significant messages at home and abroad.

The minister added that the sector had launched, in this respect, various programmes such the epic mega show “Ala Fachehadou,” the outcome of a collective work of young Algerians from the different parts of the country, in addition to the theatrical epic “Aya.”
