OUM EL BOUAGHI – Thursday, 31 August 2023 (APS) – The Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun urged Wednesday private investors in Oum El Bouaghi to “multiply the production of pharmaceutical products to reduce the import bill.”
Chairing the inauguration of a medical reagents production plant in the commune of Ain M’lila, the Minister urged the managers of this production unit to adopt a 3×8 production system to increase production and contribute to self-sufficiency.
While inaugurating an anti-cancer drug manufacturing company, an investment worth DZD5.4 billion, Aoun congratulated the company owner on this asset and invited him to register as many drugs as possible in 2025 to supply central pharmacies.
The Minister affirmed that the State would further support private investors.
In the commune of Ouled Kacem, the Minister also kicked off an operation to export a shipment of 1.5 million units of medical and surgical gloves to Mauritania, expressing his satisfaction with the efforts made by this private medical glove manufacturer.
“I hope that Mauritania would be the gateway for Algerian companies to expand their exports to Africa,” he continued.
In a press briefing at the end of his visit to the Sigus cement plant belonging to the state-owned GICA Group, the Minister called on the company’s managers to mobilize to protect the environment.
