ALGIERS – Tuesday, 30 May 2023 (APS) – The first training course within the framework of the membership of the “Mediterranean Alliance of News Agencies” (AMAN) to the UN media network, opened Tuesday at the headquarters of Algeria Press Service (APS) in Algiers, in collaboration with Croatia’s new agency HINA.
This first educational mission within the framework of AMAN’s membership of the UN media network will focus on sustainable development goals (SDG Media Compact).
A total of 16 journalists from different editorial services of APS are participating in this first course, a pilot project to be led by Mrs Majda Tafra-Vlahovic, from the University of Dubrovnik, Croatia, and chair of the board of directors of the news agency HINA, and Mr Damir Hainski, deputy general manager of the agency.
The two-day training programme will be held in the form of workshops in which the participants will tackle sustainable development-related issues, including the role of the media in the efforts to protect the environment and preserve the ecological balance in the Mediterranean.
