ALGIERS – Saturday, 11 November 2023 (APS) – A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Algeria and Mali is being developed, on mutual recognition in terms of registration and marketing of medicines, the ministry of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production said in a statement.

The announcement was made Friday during the visit of the ministry’s secretary general, Drifa Khoudir, to the Algerian pavilion in the second International health event Keneya Expo 2023 in Bamako.

The memorandum of understanding, including the mutual recognition between Algeria and Mali, is aimed at reducing the time required for Algerian drug registration and marketing.

Such a step is likely to give a “fresh impetus” to pharmaceutical cooperation and partnership between the two countries, according to the secretary general who represented the sector’s minister, Ali Aoun, in the event.
