ALGIERS – Sunday, 08 October 2023 (APS) – The president of the Council of the Nation (upper house of Parliament), Salah Goudjil, celebrating Sunday the National Diplomacy Day (October 8th), stressed the achievements of Algerian diplomacy and its constant positions “stemming from a foreign policy based on the immutable principles of November (1954), which oppose colonialism and do not negotiate the rights of peoples to self-determination.

On this occasion, coinciding with the day Algeria joined the United Nations, on 8 October 1962, Goudjil said “on this, the Algerian Diplomacy Day, I stress these glories and achievements with pride and deference.”

The president of the Upper House commended the achievements of the Algerian diplomacy and its “constant positions, stemming from a foreign policy based on the immutable principles of November, which include respect of freedom and sovereignty, belief in non-alignment, opposition to colonialism and refusal to negotiate the rights of peoples to self-determination.”
