ANKARA – Monday, 16 May 2022 (APS) – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, co-signed on Monday in Ankara, with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Joint Declaration of the first meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council between the two countries under his state visit to Turkey.

The two countries also signed several cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding in various fields at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, in the presence of delegations from both countries.

 

The agreements concern several sectors such as Energy and Mining, Finance, Trade, Industry, Information and Communication, Public Works, Fisheries, Science & Technology and Innovation, Micro-enterprises, Social Services, Vocational Training, Culture, Education, Environment, and the Fight against cross-border organized crime.

Speaking at a press briefing he co-hosted with his Turkish counterpart after the signing ceremony, President Tebboune said that the “agreements sealed today will give the expected momentum to the privileged historical relations between the two sister countries.”

President Tebboune arrived Sunday in Ankara for a three-day state visit to Turkey at the invitation of his brother President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
