ALGIERS – Sunday, 22 October 2023 (APS) – Algeria-Tunisia Parliamentary Friendship Group was set up Sunday, at the People’s National Assembly (lower house of Parliament) in Algiers, with a view to enhance parliamentary cooperation and develop the historical ties between the two sister countries.
Chairing the installation ceremony, MP Hadjira Abbas said the parliamentary friendship group was expected to effectively contribute to boost parliamentary diplomacy and strengthen cooperation among the legislative institutions of the two countries.
Tunisia’s ambassador to Algiers, Ramdhane Elfayedh, welcomed the initiative, saying that it would “contribute to enhance the fraternal relations between the two countries through parliamentary action.”
The head of the group, Mohamed El Hadi Tebessi, called on parliamentarians to “accompany the development actions and exchanges between the two countries, in addition to strengthening the achievements made.”
