ALGIERS – Tuesday, 06 December 2022 (APS) – Algeria will host, from December 7 to 9, the 9th High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, under the theme “Support to the new African members of the UN Security Council in addressing peace and security issues in Africa.”

This conference, which will be held in Oran, will see high-level participation, particularly at the ministerial level, of the Member States of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union (AU), as well as African members of the UN Security Council, in addition to experts and high-level representatives of African and UN bodies.

Moreover, this important meeting aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the African Peace and Security Council and the African members of the UN Security Council in the performance of their tasks, particularly with regard to the defense of Africa’s common positions and interests in UN Security Council decision-making on peace and security issues relating to the continent.

The conference in the city of Oran is a follow-up of the previous ones held by Algeria as part of its firm and constant commitment to support the action of the organization in the fields of peace and security and its untiring efforts to promote joint African action.
