ALGIERS – Wednesday, 21 June 2023 (APS) – Algeria strongly condemned on Tuesday the assault on its ambassador’s residence in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, reiterating its appeal to all Sudanese parties to “stop killing each other and favour dialogue to overcome differences and put an end to the crisis,” according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad.

“Algeria strongly condemns the assault on the residence of the Algerian ambassador in Khartoum and stresses the need to prosecute the perpetrators of this criminal act, which is a violation of international law and diplomatic practice,” the source said.

“Algeria has further underlined the need to protect the headquarters of diplomatic missions and reiterates its appeal to all Sudanese parties to stop killing each other and to favour dialogue in order to overcome differences and put an end to the crisis in accordance with the legitimate aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people,” added the same source.
