ALGIERS – Tuesday, 13 June 2023 (APS) – The relations between Algeria and Russia have, for six decades been marked by continuous cooperation, mutual trust and a strategic partnership that are set to be given a fresh impetus by the three-day visit paid by President of the Republic to Moscow from Tuesday, at the invitation of his Russian counterpart.

During his visit, which is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two friendly countries, the President of the Republic will take part in the work of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Algeria and Russia signed a Strategic Partnership Declaration in 2001, and since the election of President Tebboune their relationship has been strengthened through constant dialogue between the leaders of the two countries, in addition to visits by several political leaders and parliamentary and economic delegations.

Indeed, Algerian-Russian relations have become closer and more dynamic in recent years, reflecting a high level of consultation, particularly in terms of international and regional issues, with the two countries maintaining an active dialogue.
