ALGIERS – Friday, 17 June 2022 (APS) – Minister of Industry Ahmed Zeghdar agreed Thursday, in Saint Petersburg (Russia), with the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Valentinovitch Manturov on the necessity of intensifying meetings between the two countries’ economic operators for mutually beneficial partnerships and the relaunch of cooperation in the field of industrial estates, the ministry said in a statement.
This meeting, which took place on the sidelines of Zeghdar’s participation in the 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, enabled the two sides to examine the economic cooperation between the two countries.
In this regard, Zeghdar pointed out the promising prospects offered by Algeria, notably the fast-growing investment climate thanks to the updating of the legal framework of investments, initiated by the Algerian government, in accordance with the guidelines of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The two ministers “agreed to intensify the meetings between the two countries’ operators to establish mutually beneficial partnerships that help increase the volume of exchanges between Algeria and Russia and that enable the Algerian products to enter the Russian markets,” added the source.
The two sides agreed also to relaunch the cooperation in the field of industrial estates, “a field in which Algeria has a great experience.”
The meeting between the two ministers took place in the presence of Algeria’s ambassador to Moscow Smail Benamara.
