ALGIERS – Wednesday, 16 March 2022 (APS) – Slovenia’s Foreign Minister, Anze Logar said on Wednesday that Algeria “was a key partner to “his country in several fields,” stressing “the two countries’ strong will” to boost cooperation in the future. 

 

In a statement at the end of the audience with the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Slovenian FM called Algeria “a key partner” to his country, “the second in the region.” 

The two countries will work to “effectively and quickly develop the partnership in the fields of services, artificial intelligence, water resources, and tourism.”

After stressing the “great partnership opportunities in these areas”, Logar said that both countries “are willing to “promote cooperation in the future, especially in trade and maritime exchanges.”

Regarding the audience granted to him by the President of the Republic, the Slovenian official stressed that his “fruitful” meeting with President Tebboune had focused on several topics, including the situation in Ukraine, and relations between Algeria and Slovenia under the signing of a new economic cooperation agreement.

The meeting also focused on “areas likely to strengthen cooperation in the future, including the energy sector,” in anticipation of “the establishment of new partnerships with Algeria in the production of gas and oil.”
