ALGIERS – Monday, 10 October 2022 (APS) – A joint statement was signed between Algeria and France Sunday evening, in Algiers, at the end of the 5th high-level Intergovernmental Committee meeting, in addition to agreements and letters of intent, during a ceremony co-chaired by the prime ministers of the two countries, Aymen Benabderrahmane and Elisabeth Borne.

A report on the restitution of 51 ancient coins was also signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, and French minister for Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, Bruno Le Maire, before Borne handed over the ancient coins to Benabderrahamane.

In addition, a statement of intent in the field of tourism and a letter of intent in the field of knowledge economy, innovation and entrepreneurship were signed by Minister of Tourism and Crafts Industry Yacine Hamadi and his counterpart Olivia Grégoire as well as an MoU between Algeria Venture and the French Development Agency, signed by the minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-Enterprises, Yacine El Mahdi Oualid and the minister of Small and Medium Enterprises, Trade, Crafts and Tourism, Olivia Grégoire.

A statement of intent on Labor and Employment was signed by the minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security Youcef Chorfa, and the French minister of Labour, Employment and Integration Olivier Dussopt.

A cooperation agreement in agriculture, rural development and the agri-food industry was signed by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohamed Abdelhafid Henni and French Minister of Agriculture and Food, Marc Fesneau.

A statement of intent on industrial and technological cooperation was signed by Minister of Industry Ahmed Zaghdar and French Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty Bruno Le Maire, and a letter of intent on cooperation in the area of equal opportunities was signed by the minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra, and the French minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colona.

The two ministers also signed a letter of intent on strengthening exchanges in the sectors of protection and promotion of disabled people, and a statement of intent relating to a framework convention relating to the Mixed Network of Schools (RME schools).

In addition, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Kamel Baddari and Minister of Higher Education and Research Sylvie Retailleau signed a statement of intent relating to Institutes of Applied Sciences and Technology.
