ALGIERS – Tuesday, 12 September 2023 (APS) – Algeria has decided, on the instruction of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to urgently dispatch important humanitarian aid to the brotherly State of Libya, following the torrential rains and floods that affected several Libyan cities, the Presidency of the Republic said Tuesday in a statement.

 

“In response to the request made by the President of the Libyan Presidential Council Mohamed Younes El-Menfi to provide aid to the disaster-stricken regions following the torrential rains and floods that affected several cities of the brotherly State of Libya, Algeria has decided, on the instruction of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to send urgently important humanitarian aid, made up of foodstuffs, medical equipment, clothes and tents via eight (8) aircrafts coming under the Air Forces and the People’s National Army,” said the source.

This aid, added the statement, shows “the commitment of the Algerian Government and people to the limitless unconditional solidarity with the brotherly Libyan people, to help them overcome this painful ordeal.”
