ALGIERS – Sunday, 16 July 2023  (APS) – The relations between Algeria and China are called, given their historical depth and comprehensive strategic character, to further strengthen on the occasion of the State visit that will be paid by the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as from Monday, to this friendly country, at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

This visit comes within the framework of the strengthening of the solid and rooted relations and of the consolidation of the economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.

These historical relations with China dates back to the creation of the provisional government of the Algerian Republic (GPRA) that China, the first non-Arab country, had immediately recognized in 1958, before the development of these relations just after the independence of Algeria.

The two countries plan, today, to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership linking them since 2014 to higher levels, and to open broader prospects in the best interests of the two countries and peoples, so that to achieve their aspirations amidst current global changes and as part of the efforts aimed to take a strong position at the regional and international levels, on the basis of the two States’ commitment to the principle of respect and mutual interests and the willingness of the two countries’ leaders to maintain an ongoing dialogue and a close cooperation.

It is in this context that the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune sent a congratulation message to the Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of his re-election in March president of the country by the Chinese National People’s Congress.
