ALGIERS – Sunday, 14 May 2023 (APS) –  General Manger of national company Air Algerie Yacine Benslimane ranked first among the most influential airline chiefs in the Maghreb, according to a ranking published by Forbes Middle East.

 

On a list of the Top 100 leaders of the sector in the MENA region, Benslimane ranked 34th among the chiefs of airline companies, airports, hotels and even tourism investment companies in the Arab world, notably where travel and tourism industry “has greatly contributed to the economic growth and the region’s development, a region emerging as a global class destination.”

In this list, “59 of the selected candidates are hospitality companies, hotels and resorts while 31 are airlines and airports.”

Among the factors which boosted tourism activity in the region, said the source, the organization of major sporting events, with the  Formula 1 Grand Prix in Bahrain, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022 and FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2027.
