ALGIERS – Monday, 27 March 2023 (APS) – The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, had a phone conversation with his Sudanese counterpart, Ali Al-Sadiq Ali, discussing the ways and means to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries, the ministry said Monday in a statement.

“The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf has received today a phone call from his brother Ali Al-Sadiq Ali, minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan, a sister country, mainly devoted to the examination of ways to strengthen bilateral relations and consultation on the developments of regional issues of common interest,” the statement said.

Minister Ali Al-Sadiq Ali seized the opportunity to congratulate Minister Ahmed Attaf on his appointment as head of Algerian diplomacy.

During the phone conversation, the two ministers said they “were proud  of the historical relations of fraternity, cooperation and solidarity between the two brother countries.”

The two officials stressed “their desire to explore together the promising prospects of bilateral cooperation in the economic field in the best interests of the two sides.”

Attaf reiterated “Algeria’s permanent solidarity with Sudan, a sister country, in favour of its security, stability and the recovery of the position it deserves in the continental organisation,” the statement said.
