TUNIS – Wednesday, 24 August 2022 (APS) – The Algerian swimming team has clinched five new medals (3 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze) during the finals of the 4th day of the African Senior Championships (men and women), held Tuesday in Tunis.

During this 4th day of competition, Jaouad Syoud has once again stood out by with two gold medals on 400m medley (4:22.08) and 50m breaststroke (28.00), bringing his personal total to nine medals (5 gold, 4 silver).

Algeria’s third silver medal was won by Abdallah Ardjoune on 100m backstroke (55.31).

The two other Algerian medals were won by the men’s relay of 4x100m freestyle made up of Belamane-Achour-Sahnoune-Syoud (Silver, 3:26.51) and Meroua Merniz on 100m backstroke (Bronze, 1:04.65).

With these new medals, Algeria brings its total to 19 medals (8 gold, 9 silver, 2 bronze).
