ALGIERS – Wednesday, 11 October 2023 (APS) – The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Lounes Magramane, will co-chair the 6th session of the Algeria-United States strategic dialogue in Washington on Wednesday, with Barbara Leaf, Assistant Secretary of State at the US State Department, according to a Ministry press release.
“Accompanied by a high-level multisectoral Algerian delegation, Leaf will discuss the thrusts of Algeria-US cooperation, including the fields of energy, high education, startups, culture and transport,” said the source.
According to the Ministry, “the talks will also focus on regional and international issues of common interest, and counterterrorism cooperation.”
The event follows the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, to Washington on August 2023, and constitutes “a milestone in the consolidation of cooperation ties.”
