ALGIERS – Wednesday, 27 September (APS) – Italian cinema will be the guest of honour at the fourth Mediterranean Film festival of Annaba, to take place on November 3 to 9 at the Azzedine-Medjoubi Regional Theatre, the organizers said.
The festival’s manager, Mohamed Allal, said “the choice of Italy as the guest of honour came naturally, as Italy is one of the greatest film industries in the world, and which has inspired successive generations of filmmakers and actors.”
“In addition to the magic of cinema, Italy shares with Algeria a history and the bilateral relations between the two countries date back to the war of liberation,” the festival’s manager said.
The festival has recently launched the Annaba Film Industry Contest, for film project holders in Mediterranean countries.
Application for the contest is open until October 15.
