ALGIERS – Tuesday, 21 February 2023 (APS) – The third Algerian-Croatian Political Consultations, chaired by the secretary general of the ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Amar Belani, began Tuesday in Algiers, in the presence of the Croatian delegation led by the secretary of state to Political Affairs at the ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Frano Matusic.

At the opening of the works, Belani said the meeting was one of the mechanisms of bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Croatia, through which “we want to deepen bilateral political dialogue and expand cooperation in the economic and cultural fields, to raise them to the level of the expectations and aspirations of the two countries and two peoples.”

The secretary general said the “the meeting today undoubtedly reflects the common desire of the two countries to follow the guidelines of the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his Croatian counterpart (Zoran Milanovic) to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, in priority strategic areas, such as agriculture, industry, tourism, startups, sport, shipbuilding and energy.”

He added that all goals met throughout the year “will enhance the momentum characterizing our bilateral relations, and will be an opportunity to show our common desire to raise our relations to a higher level for a more diversified partnership, direct investments and mutual win-win.”

Frano Matusic said he was delighted with the celebration of the 31st anniversary of Algerian-Croatian friendship relations.

The Croatian official stressed the intensity of bilateral cooperation and the natural belonging to the Mediterranean.
