ALGIERS – Tuesday, 04 July 2023 – The 2nd Algerian-Italian Strategic Dialogue meeting on bilateral relations and global political and security issues was held in Algiers, Sunday and Monday, under the co-chairmanship of the secretary general of the ministry of Foreign Affairs and his Italian counterpart, the ministry said in a statement.
“The second Algerian-Italian Strategic Dialogue meeting on bilateral relations and global political and security issues was held in Algiers, on July 2 and 3 under the co-chairmanship of the secretary general of the ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Lounès Magramane, and the secretary general of the Italian ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ricardo Guariglia,” the statement said.
“This bilateral cooperation mechanism shows the shared desire of the higher authorities of the two countries to work together for deepening and enhancing bilateral cooperation, in line with the memorandum of understanding (MoU), signed between Algeria and Italy on 5 December 2020, in Algiers, establishing this strategic dialogue.”
“This second meeting was an opportunity for the two sides to make an assessment of the bilateral cooperation and its prospects, in the areas of common interest, in the light of the conclusions adopted in the first meeting of the strategic dialogue on 29 March 2022, in Rome.”
The two sides also discussed “the recommendations approved by the two sides at the fourth session of the bilateral summit, held in Algiers, on 19 July2022,” the statement said.
